Drawing Vector Paths in Flash CS4 Made Easy

Drawing Vector Paths in Flash CS4 Made Easy

The introduction of flash opened a new chapter in design and development of interactive illustrations and web sites. Flash introduced vector-based graphics that looked more promising and illustrative than bitmap graphics. Today, flash enables users to design a flash website, create interactive animations and presentations in a very simple and easy way.
The latest version of Flash, the CS4 Professional, has a complete set of old and new tools. With the help of these tools, a flash website development expert can add attractive vector graphics to web pages. Vector drawings rely on various elements. One of the most basic and key elements is a path. A path is a set of anchor points that can be connected by straight lines or curves.
A flash designer creates paths by using various drawing tools such as pencil tool, brush tool and pen tool. Paths can be categorized as open and closed paths. An open path has endpoints, whereas closed paths have neither beginning nor end, for example: a circle or a square.
You can edit to delete or move a path using selection and subselection tools. These tools have distinct properties. A selection tool selects an entire path of a vector object, while subselection tool is used to select tiny individual anchor points within a path. Flash CS4 Developers involved in flash web site development can easily edit vector paths without paying much attention to anchor points, that also with the help of a selection tool. They can convert a straight line into a curve without selecting the anchor points. To do this, just position the selection pointer between two anchor points. When a small curve appears beside a pointer, just click and drag to reshape a line into a curve.
These simple basic elements help developers design a website in flash with control, ease and simplicity. Flash CS4 Professional has many such tools that involve development and design of flash website with much lesser effort.

Photoshop comprises numerous first-class Vector instruments

Among the extraordinary matters around applying digital technology and the online comprises however comfortable it’s to happen art and vector clipping artwork that you are able to apply as digital scrap booking, introductions, written document*, or to photographic print and apply in conventional report images.

Photoshop comprises numerous superior vector instruments and lineaments. Simply while it refers producing graphics, knowledgeable digital creative person*, illustrators, and designers seldom specify themselves to an only software package practical application. It’s no covert that while it adds up to tracing with vectors, there has ordinal less spoiled selection than Adobe Illustrator. Illustrator suffers comprised the standard vector artwork instrument.

. The lineaments and uses inside Illustrator are incomparable so, just what act you serve while you require each the superior vector innovation theories volunteered inside Illustrator, still you as well require the superior paint instrument lineaments inwards Photoshop? The reply comprises simple: You aggregate the 2 practical applications*.

And conceive it or not, while it adds up to making a stunning artwork Novena chef-d’oeuvre comparable the same you view here, you just require replicating and pasting. To set up it only: Photoshop and Illustrator act really well in concert. We’ll research the vantages by adding active vector artwork by Illustrator into Photoshop and applying it while vector making stuffs to make the art object you find here.

Further specifically, we’ll comprise pasting vector graphics into Photoshop, making work levels and ways while the Illustrator information arrives at it has technique into Photoshop. We’ll apply ways to make option perimeters, and we’ll reduplicate and blue-pencil work levels to fit an assortment by roles. Sometime the vectors are safely inward put; we could utilize Photoshop’s fantastic blusher and theme instruments, subsequent in a homesick art object of graphics that comprises a combining by both high-pitched vector and effeminate colored components.

Even so it makes up significant to acknowledge the various cases by clip fine art that are visible, on about clipart places making up took on older scanned graphics that is not really magnetic. In fact free clipart comprises probably to get dozens by internet site* occupied with monochrome drawings by the older times that comprised scanned and uploaded. Unluckily these characters by pictures aren’t simple to set the sizing or control.

The finest choice comprises to explore for internet site* that allow for the master vector prototype, or an eminent solving electronic image, and so apply software package alike Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator to resize or control the picture into your digital scrapbook, or earlier you photographic print it. Whenever you’re with a budget, you are able to as well apply free picture editors specified Inscape or the lameness, while there has as well numerous middle priced software system usable for shareware.

Vector graphics comprises really unlike by electronic image artwork which comprises an exposure or a picture that can not comprise resized. Vector through direct contrast comprises created up by strains and dots, and then the broadcast you apply to blue-pencil it could alter it has sized without conveying jaggy margins or drawing the graphics fuzzed. This comprises particularly significant whenever you are making aviators and postings and wish a different sizing.

Photoshop Contains Some Excellent Vector Tools

Photoshop Contains Some Excellent Vector Tools

Photoshop contains some excellent vector tools and features. But when it comes to creating artwork, experienced digital artists, illustrators, and designers rarely limit themselves to a single software application. It is no secret that when it comes to drawing with vectors, there is no better choice than Adobe Illustrator. Illustrator has been the industry-standard vector art tool for as long as I can remember.

I personally have been using it as an integral part of my digital toolset since 1991. The features and functions within Illustrator are unparalleled indeed, but what do you do when you want all the superb vector creation possibilities offered within Illustrator, yet you also want the superb paint tool features in Photoshop? The answer is simple: You combine the two applications.

And believe it or not, when it comes to creating a stunning Art Noveau masterpiece like the one you see here, you simply need to copy and paste. To put it simply: Photoshop and Illustrator play very well together. We will explore the advantages of bringing existing vector art from Illustrator into Photoshop and using it as vector building blocks to create the piece you see here.

More specifically, we will be pasting vector art into Photoshop, creating shape layers and paths as the Illustrator data makes its way into Photoshop. We will use paths to create selection borders, and We will duplicate and edit shape layers to suit a variety of purposes. Once the vectors are safely in place, we can employ Photoshop’s marvelous paint and composition tools, resulting in a nostalgic piece of art that is a combination of both sharp vectors and soft painted elements.

Generally, when I witness inexperienced users of Illustrator attempting to create artwork in a similar style, they rely on stroke attributes to create the outline in the image. An unfortunate result of this method is that there is little or no expressive quality in the line-work. What makes line-work expressive in the context of an illustration is the variation in thickness and the way the ends of each line taper, are sharp, or are rounded.

Granted, there are options within the Stroke palette that allow you to change the endpoints of the line; but again, like the uniform thickness of the stroke, those just aren’t expressive enough. The best way to achieve the desired expressive quality is to pay attention to the sketch. When we draw, something intuitive happens, and it becomes effortless or even a subconscious act to create expressive line-work. Within software it is a different story. We need to focus on preserving the innate, expressive quality of our drawing as we create the finished product.

This goal cannot be achieved by using stroke attributes but by creating each element manually with the Pen tool. However, there is more to it than simple mastery over the Pen tool. There is a logical method of construction, which involves creating an exterior shape first. The next step is to subtract an interior. This will give you your expressive outline. After that, details are created as closed shapes, and the result is unified. The Pathfinder palette plays a central role in this systematic drawing process.

Mastering Vector Design: How to Create Illustrator Patterns and max tutorial

Mastering Vector Design: How to Create Illustrator Patterns and max tutorial

Ready to learn some insider Illustrator techniques for managing pattern fills? Buried in Illustrator’s overwhelming array of features are some tricks for manipulating fills that I think you’ll really enjoy.

Did you know that you can do all of the following?

* Apply pattern fills to strokes
* Rescale a pattern within a shape
* Move a pattern within a shape
* Stack multiple patterns in a single shape

In this article, I’ll explain how to perform all of these techniques. But first, let’s examine how patterns are created in Illustrator, and how they’re applied to shapes.max tutorial

You use Illustrator’s omnipotent Swatches panel to collect, store, save, and apply patterns as object fills. Those pattern fills can be applied to closed paths (in which the first anchor is also the last), or open paths (in which the first and last anchors differ). Have you adopted Illustrator’s alternative Live Paint logic? The Swatches panel is used here as well to apply pattern fills.
Creating and Applying a Simple Pattern Fill

The following procedure shows how to generate, save, and apply pattern fills. I’ll use the technique of borrowing one of the preset symbols that ship with Illustrator as a pattern.

1. Select Window > Symbol Libraries, and choose any of the sets of pre-made symbol libraries from the submenu to open a panel with a set of symbols.
2. Drag any symbol from the Symbol panel onto the Illustrator artboard. Drag other symbols (or more copies of the same symbol) onto the artboard to create a pattern. Keep the symbols you drag onto the artboard close to each other (see max tutorial).

3. Select Window > Swatches to display the Swatches panel. Select all the objects to be included in your pattern, and then drag them onto the Swatches panel as shown in Figure 2.

4. With your pattern created and safely stashed in the Swatches panel, you can apply the pattern to any selected shape as a fill. Simply select the path and then click the desired swatch in the Swatches panel.

TIP

An even easier method is to use Illustrator’s substantial collection of pattern fills. Select Window > Swatch Libraries > Patterns and then choose one of the preset pattern swatch libraries.

David Karlins dispels some of the myths about using patterns in Adobe Illustrator. With some very simple techniques, you can create and use fascinating patterns for strokes and fills.

Vector Drawing with Illustrator: Easier Than You Think and max tutorial

Vector Drawing with Illustrator: Easier Than You Think and max tutorial

Using vector graphics can be one of the most exciting, creative, and distinctive ways to create digital artwork. For years, I’ve taught students who are migrating from bitmap illustration how to use vectors. This article will give you a quick glimpse into the logic and techniques of vector artwork, max tutorial but you’ll need to open Illustrator and do some experimenting if you really want to learn how to work with vectors.
Vector Artwork: Cool But Challenging

Because vector artwork is generally scalable, the same file that’s used for a tiny icon can be used on a billboard—with no degradation in quality and no increase in file size. Like the SWF (“swiff”) files produced by Flash or Adobe Illustrator, vector artwork is sizable online; viewers can zoom in or out without distortion. And because of the way in which computers manage vectors, you can manipulate vectors easily, with dramatic effect. For example, in Illustrator you can take a single path connected by two anchors, spin it, and produce a 3-D object.

If vector artwork is so great, why isn’t everyone using it? The main reason that vector graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator is intimidating and off-putting is that most artists aren’t used to thinking and working in vectors. When you create artwork using bitmap (non-vector) illustration programs such as Photoshop, it’s much like daubing paint on a canvas. Photoshop creates and edits dots or bits, which are mapped by a computer program.

By contrast, Illustrator and other vectormax tutorial graphics programs define paths between anchors. The anchor points that you define form the heart of your vector artwork. The paths that connect those vectors are actually controlled by attributes of the anchors.

In Illustrator, often things that seem basic are very difficult to do, while things that seem complex are fairly simple. For example, generating a bell from a curve by using Illustrator’s 3-D rotation effect (see max tutorial) is a pretty simple matter of clicking options in dialog boxes. Drawing that simple-looking curve is the trickier part of the process. For this article, let’s focus on that trickier part—drawing curves.

You’ve probably been creating bitmap art for years, or even decades. David Karlins thinks it’s about time you investigated the possibilities of creating vector drawings. The concepts and terminology are a bit less like working with paint on canvas – but the technology is a lot more powerful.

How to Make Vector Art

How to Make Vector Art

Bitmap Images

There are two main types of graphics used on computers. There are Bitmap graphics, which is a type of image that uses pixels to store image information. A pixel is a tinny square on the screen and many of them are used to make up an image. As the image is made up of many tiny dots, the image is not easily scalable. If you try to enlarge it, the quality of the image will decrease.

Vector Graphics

The second type is Vector Graphics. Vector graphics are scalable. They do not use pixels to store information. A vector application, uses mathematical information to store what an image looks like. If you remember maths from high school, you can use co-ordinates to record positions, formulas to record the angles of lines, and shapes etc. This is a very simplified explanation, however, the point is that vector graphics do not use pixels. Because of this they are scalable. You may enlarge them, and the quality of the image will not decrease. So it makes them ideally suited for any situation where you may need the image in different sizes.

How to make Vector Art

To create Vector Art images you will need an application such as Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, Coral Draw, or the free open-source alternative Inkscape. Creating an vector image is different to traditional applications in that you can’t just use an eraser rub out parts of an image which you want to delete. Vector images are made up of objects, which have sizing handles to manipulate your images with. Once you master your application, professional and crisp scalable graphics are easy to create.
