I’m new to using Illustrator to create vector graphics saved as an EPS file. What I have is some white text that has a red border around each letter. When I select all the text, then go to the type menu and choose “create outlines”, each letter is outlined as one object. Shouldn’t the white outline be one object, and the solid red color inside the outline be another? Just don’t want to send the EPS file to the printing company and have trouble.

Answer by Hannafate There should be an options setting on your text, where you can set the red outlines to be white.
If what you are trying to create is just the outline of letters, with an outline inside and outside, then what you need is a hollow font, or set for “no fill”.

You see i have traced an image in Adobe Illustrator, now i want to save that logo as an image thus allowing me to expand it and decrease the size without losing quality as a vector. I use to know how but my days at school have long gone.

Answer by vector assassin just hit save. it must be an illustrator or eps file. If you export it as a jpg or any other “image” file, it will lose the ability to be resized without losing quality.

The video will speed up when I start drawing, The real picture too about 10 to 15 minutes to make, and lol I still wasn’t done xD, lol no it’s not the best picture ever made, but I just made it to show how I do things. On the other hand the crappy animation you’ve seen in the begging was made by me, lol youtube or the process in rendering the video has skipped some keyframes in the animation.
