Europcar promised me a Mitsubishi Lancer… I got so excited.

Instead, they hand us a Honda Civic.

I already have one of those!

The more annoying thing:
No GPS.

I reserved one, paid for one. But they ran out.

I was reminded of the Seinfeld episode that goes,

"So you know how to take the reservation, you just don’t know how to keep the reservation!"

I didn’t get that bummed because they said they would try to get me one before the day’s end, but that I can check the main office in Downtown (so that’s where I am. Navigated nearly 30km without a map… this is how the nomads and desert folk of the Arabian peninusla must have felt? But, you know, if they had cars… haha).

Store’s closed, so it’s time to explore and then return, hopefully with a GPS.

Another project in my digital composition course. We had to choose from various ‘sets’ such as Love vs Hate, Fear vs Desire, etc.

Then we had to choose found-art from the internet, and manipulate it, compile it, composite it, and come up with a composition that best represented our topic of choice.

This piece is *meant* to represent "Fear VS Desire" by showing how some people desire to be "cool" and fear rejection, and end up smoking just to fit in. While some people think they are more "desirable" and "beautiful" because they smoke, it’s really just killing them slowly.

I have several variations of this as well.

Check Out This Years Olympians In Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

When American skier Lindsey Vonn was on the cover of last week’s Sports Illustrated posing in a ski racer’s aerodynamic tuck position, she wore no helmet, which allowed her long blond hair to spill across the page.

This week, America’s best Olympic medal hope at the Vancouver Games has ditched a lot more than just her helmet for SI’s annual swimsuit issue, in which she appears in a bikini on a Canadian mountaintop.

Vonn is one of several Winter Olympic athletes depicted in the publication, which hit newsstands Tuesday. The others are snowboarder Clair Bidez, ski aerialist Lacy Schnoor, and snowboarder Hannah Teter. In a story posted at the magazine’s Web site, Vonn said she accepted the invitation to pose because of the way Sports Illustrated had portrayed previous athletes, including Maria Sharapova.

“The pictures were always classy, they always looked really awesome,” Vonn told SI’s Tim Layden. “It made me feel a lot more comfortable about the whole thing, knowing they had shot other athletes. It was a good opportunity for me to show everyone what I actually look like, because I’m always wearing a helmet when I compete.”

Vonn, 25, flew from Utah to Vancouver yesterday, bringing about 40 pairs of skis. She will race in all five Alpine skiing disciplines, and is a favorite for medals in three of them, including Sunday’s super combined event.

According to Lindsay’s husband, Thomas Vonn, who acts as his wife’s manager on the ski circuit, only a very small circle was notified about the shoot, which took place last summer on a glacier near Whistler, where the Olympic Alpine skiing events will take place.

“We’re good at keeping secrets,” he said.

Answer by raspberry’s are pretty good
download Adobe Flash Professional Trial.
In Fireworks Create whatever text you want eg “Hello World” (You can either use the text feature to get simple text or you can use the paint brush to draw text manually and create something more snazzy like what is in your link). Then Create a duplicate of each letter and place it on it’s own layer. Make it completely white and then adjust the transparency to say 25%. Then Save a .png (flattened) of the text, then another of the text with the text with the first letter’s altenatve version set to visible, then another for the next letter and so on. Then import your series of stills into Adobe Flash Player and set each image as a layer and have it as 1 frame. Save as either .swf or .gif (.gif is more compatible but looks kinda crappy and the files are usually bigger) (.swf is usued very commonly on the web but requires adobe flash player to be viewed, the quality will be great and the files size will be unbelievably small)

This is kind of boring compared to the other 2 videos… And the room was so dark you couldn’t see anything. I messed around with Adobe Premiere Pro and ended up making it all color-changey by accident, and left it that way. It was really unsalvageable video anyway.

BACKSTORY: Oranjello caught a baby mouse. Carolyn was in the kitchen and she went into the rec room and saw the cats playing, and she heard a squeak. Then Oranjello started running towards her to the kitchen and that’s when she noticed the rodent hanging out of his mouth. He went to the utility room and just sat there with it in his mouth for a second, then he took off back into the rec room. That’s when she called out to Clint, who came down with the camera. Then Lemonjello was trying to check it out, so Oranjello started growling… Pretty much non-stop.

The poor mouse didn’t last very long though. ): But Oranjello wasn’t about to let anyone take it away from him.

Since then, there have been two more baby mice for a total of three mice in three days.

Oranjello is picking off their family one by one! Excellent. Mouse droppings in your silverware drawer SUCK. Read about hantavirus, which is linked to breathing in dust that comes in contact with mouse droppings, at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hantavirus … This is something the US actually weaponized for bio-warfare.

I was honored to be invited to guest host TWIP on Monday by Frederick Van. There is a live version of the show where perhaps you saw me in video action! I had a great time – and I thank Joseph, Ron, and Frederick for humoring me… I think I could talk to those guys all day and geek out on photography!

I revealed that video technique which a clever commenter coined "Stuck In Motion". I put ALL the information there on that link. It should tell you everything, in addition to what you hear on the show. The original video posting gathered over 240 comments, speculation, and more. I think it’s fantastic how people guessed, poked, and prodded. Experimentation is great!

My friend RC Conception chimed into the chat, and I hijacked his question as an opportunity to talk about HDR not being a fad. Hehe… Anyway, you guys should also check out the great RC on Layers TV if you want to learn some new tricks in the Adobe suite of products.

I’ve always heard about how wonderful it is to have a ranch near the wine country in Argentina. But not until I was down there did I really find that out in person. The idea of walking across a ranch during the nether hours of the day and seeing something like this… well… it kind of makes me want to just go ahead and retire down there. All I need is broadband and these kind of vistas… that’s the life, eh? I hope I was able to adequately capture the majesty of that place with this photo.

I’m not particularly happy with this b&w image, but I did learn a new trick. I mostly use Adobe Lightroom to edit my photos and for black and white, I’ve always just used the 8 color sliders to tweak the gray scales. This time, I went up to the White Balance sliders, Temp and Tint, and found that by sliding these back and forth, you’re able to make big adjustments and quickly see a wide range of different effects – - and then go to the color sliders to make smaller changes.

i just thought i’d chuck a new vid together for everyone seeing i haven’t put one up for a while, this is basically some of the latte art pours that i pour daily for my customers, i know i may not perfect each pour every time, but even seeing the smile on the customers face even at my attempting to make the coffee look nice and the appreciation and complements i get really makes the hours of practice and effort working on designs worth it, and basically i wouldn’t go to work each day as happy as i do if i wasn’t getting something more out of it then just making coffee, so enjoy and i will try to get a new vid up soon of the new stuff i am working on
