Question by guardian_hero0001: How do you stop Photoshop CS3 from cropping work upon opening?
Whenever I open a certain file in CS3 (only does this to one file so far but I only opened 3 files over all) it crops it to about half its proportions and doesn’t allow me to not crop it. How do I fix it? I already deleted my preferences by pushing alt+shift+ctrl and that didn’t work. I know the file itself isn’t cropped as it opens in Illustrator just fine. What is going on and why isn’t it allowing me to fix it?

Are you sure the file is being cropped ot just not being displayed on your screen?

Try clicking on the magnifying glass (the zoom tool) and selecting ‘fit screen’ and see if the entire file is being showed.

Another thing you can do is check the image size, click on Image > Image Size… see if it still has the same dimensions the original file had. If it shows here that it has a different file size than the original, there might be something wrong with the file (as the file being cropped is not normal behavior in Photoshop). You can try saving the file with a different name and format in Illustrator and see if that solves the problem.

Also while you have the file in Illustrator, make sure that the content is ALL inside the art board, anything outside the art board, is not considered part of the canvas in Photoshop and therefore not shown, you can change that by changing the canvas size of clicking on the item what is showing as being cut while you have the move tool selected (and make sure the ‘show transform controls’ option is selected) and resize it to be shown inside the canvas.

I have adobe premiere pro cs4 and every time I open another window and go back to adobe it takes like 20 minutes to auto save. Everything else works fine until I want to do something besides premiere. I just want to know how to get it to quit auto saving every time I’m not on adobe premiere. I’ve already tried editing in the auto save preferences but that just changes how long before it auto save not every time it’s minimized!

Go back to the Auto Save section and unclick ‘Automatically Save Projects’ that will stop it from doing it.
