Clipart downloads as an image file – like a photo – so, in the program, you open the photo you want to put the clipart on then File>Open, browse to where you’ve saved the clipart, click on it to highlight and click OK. It will open in the workspace along with the photo you’ve already opened.

Now, here’s where it gets a little complicated. You have to make sure that the clipart file is the same resolution as the photo you’re going to put it on. Click on the Clipart image then Image>Resize>Image Size. If the photo is 300, then the clipart should be 300, too. If it isn’t, make sure that Resample down at the bottom of the Resize window is UNchecked than type in 300 for resolution and click OK.

Now, use the Move Tool to click and drag the clipart onto your photo.

You don’t say what version of Elements you have but for versions 6, 7 and 8 Alibony has some good tutorials.

Q&A: What kind of Photoshop project should I do for Digital Design class?

Question by theinterwebs: What kind of Photoshop project should I do for Digital Design class?
I’m trying to think of a project I can do with Photoshop. I’m a novice at using Photoshop, but what are some things I can do with it that aren’t too hard, but aren’t too easy either?

You can take pics of yourself of someone you know and put them with a different background. Like make it look like you went to Europe or something. Photoshop yourself into that setting.

You can also put your head on a different body or something. It’s not too difficult to do, but in order to get it to look real, you have to work hard at the colors, textures, etc.

Worth1000.com has some pretty cool photoshop contests. You may be able to get ideas from there.

Good luck. It sounds fun!

i have to do a schol project in which my goup memebers and myself must make a short movie about our topic?

Question by tevencemos: i have to do a schol project in which my goup memebers and myself must make a short movie about our topic?
Were running short on creative ideas about a movie version of our topic, British imperialism in the Middle East, namely about Palestine, and the conflict between Israeli and Palestinian groups. but we wouldnt want to limit ourselves to just that if you have any ieas about an interesting short movie on iraq or egypt or even an idea involving the whole region your thoughts would be gladly appreciated!

Yeah, do it in Benny Hill style. Show the conflict, the culture, all that. You won’t need audio, just some music, video, cue cards spelling out what’s happening, and a Benny Hill pervert chasing women who are trying to keep modest. I’m busting a gut just thinking about it. If you do well, let me know your grade.

How do you transfer an Adobe Premiere Pro project over to Final Cut Pro?

Question by Airlub: How do you transfer an Adobe Premiere Pro project over to Final Cut Pro?
I have the latest version of both softwares, started out on Adobe Premiere Pro, realized I wanted to use Final Cut. Is there any way to transfer the timeline over?

I don’t have any crazy effects or anything, just trimmed a bunch of clips and ordered them in the correct sequence. Hoping to find a time effective way to transfer it over if it’s possible rather than sit there and try and nail every shot like it is in Premiere.

Thanks!

I don’t know premiere very well- but FInal Cut Pro will take an XML or EDL if premiere can spit one out. This can be very hit and miss though- expect to try it multiple times…. on different settings.

Be sure to “clean up” your sequence as much as possible before hand – as EDLs usually only support 1 or 2 tracks of video and 4 tracks of audio. Things like transitions and filters will probably be lost.

In FCP go FILE>IMPORT>EDL/XML – select frame rate, resolution etc. It should open up as a sequence.

Adobe Photoshop CSS: How would I make a ruler line that is 3 2/3″ vertically as a guide for my project?

Question by cole: Adobe Photoshop CSS: How would I make a ruler line that is 3 2/3″ vertically as a guide for my project?
I know I must use the ruler tool, but is there a way to have the computer calculate this exact distance so I do not screw it up? I am trying to make a tri-fold brochure with a 11×8.5″ design. So 11 divided by 3 is 3.666667″. This is more difficult than it seems. I am an intermediate user of Adobe. Any suggestions would help! Thanks!

Answer by wartyh0g
if your going full bleed just put your guides at 3.666 inches –

if you need margins (not full bleed printing) then set your page margin to .25 inches all around and add two more vertical guides on each side of your initial guides, each guide should be .25 inches away from the center guide (at 3.666 inch intervals)

You see, I don’t remember the software whatsoever. And apparently we are doing a collaborative project with a geometry class. The project is that they have a floor plan, and we have to create basically blueprints. So, any online tutorials or tips where I can gain skill to this program fast?
