[This was supposed to be yesterday's image but I got busy and life got in the way :=0P ]

It’s Free Friday, which means the theme is… well… there is no theme! Friday is my day to pick any random Disney photo and post it here on Flickr.

This one is from November 2008 during the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. I like this picture and somehow overlooked it previously. I more than likely dismissed it because I thought there were too many people in it, but now I think I kind of like that about it. It really gives the image that "frozen in time" look and I like that here.

The map is from the Tibet-Museum in Dharamsala (India). The museum is always worth for a visit. The recordings in word and picture at the genocide are there very seriously occupied. Free Tibet!

Chinese occupation of Tibet has resulted in the death of over one million Tibetans, the destruction of over 6,000 monasteries, nunneries and temples, and the imprisonment and torture of thousands of Tibetans.

The Dalai Lama, Tibet’s political and spiritual leader, fled Tibet in 1959 to Dharamsala, India, followed by over 100,000 Tibetans and established the Tibetan Government-in Exile. In 1989, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for a steadfast dedication to non-violence.

Tibet, before occupation, was a nation with an established sovereign government, currency, postal system, language, legal system, and culture. Prior to 1950, the Tibetan government also signed treaties with foreign nations. The Chinese government claims that Tibet has always been part of China, yet its invasion of Tibet resembles imperialist aggression that China accuses other powers of exhibiting.

The basic freedoms of speech, religion, and assembly are strictly limited, and arbitrary arrests continue. There are currently hundreds of political prisoners in Tibet, enduring a commonplace punishment of torture.

Question by Tessltie: Where can I find rights-free pictures of wolves?
Specifically: black wolves. I’ve tried sites like Morguefile and I love them however there are so few. Do you know of any I haven’t heard of?

Key words: rights-free. As in no royalties, no sign ups, no credits, just pictures. Thank you!
A note: Google Images is not only not a “stock picture” site but is also chock full of copyrighted, stolen, and unusable pictures. The easy answer is not always the moral one, guys.

We did a Google search on my nephew Derek Page and the Flickr photo I posted of him a year ago came up first. It’s a fun pic but he’s making a silly face, so I thought I’d balance that shot out with this one from our most recent Christmas family get together.

go into my computer assuming your on windows and then look for “removable disk F:” its not always F: if there is a different letter its ok then open that folder and look at your pictures and drag them to a folder you want to put them in and then upload on facebook…

Have nothing left for a white balance card?
Cannot be bothered to beg for one online / at your local photo store?
Is carrying an awkward white balance card around too heavy and annoying?

Look inside your camera bag!
Most bags have a nice light grey fabric inside.
Take a picture of it and adjust your white balance to it.
This can be done custom automatically or manually on many cameras.

Went to the beach a couple weeks ago and i cannot begin to explain how much i love being there…
Sadly i didn’t take this picture but i really love it… i just wish i could be there all the time, it is such a peaceful place and it makes EVERYTHING go away.
Lately, things hasn’t been ok and when i look at this photo it almost takes me there.
Freedom…

Question by sweetness_n_light28: if a photographer approached you and offers free pictures, how can you tell if its legitimate?
my 16 year old sister was approached on the street by a photographer, he gave her a card and said he’d like to photograph her for their website as they are a new company. we looked at their website but how do you tell if its an honest offer or a scam? they told her she’d get a free portfolio.

Contact the Better Business Bureau to find out if the company is legitimate or not. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. Best to be cautious.
