How many computers can you install Photoshop Cs4 on?

Question by McGuy: How many computers can you install Photoshop Cs4 on?
I’m probably going to get Photoshop Cs4, but I was curious. How many computers can you really install it on using the one disc and one cd code? I’ve read that you can install it on 2 computers but you cannot use them at the same time. Is this true? Also, why do they make a Mac version and a Windows version, and is there a way to get around this?

Answer by freestuff2dotech
Probably as many as you want as long as you have the disk and product key rather than an online purchase download and product key. As for the difference in software versions, a Mac is a data-based operating system and Windows is a file-based operating system, with the exception of the new Windows 7, but it still has a registry whereas a Mac does not, so I cannot say for sure about Windows 7 without actually testing it.

How do make “camera-ready” logos using photoshop?

Question by Andrew G: How do make “camera-ready” logos using photoshop?
I just need a tiny bit of help. I have an 8 letter text treatment I worked up in photoshop using one font and a little bit of manual skewing and some re-spacing of a letter or two.

I need help converting this into a “print-ready” file that I can send to a manufacurer or printer who can use it in any scale. I think that means I need it converted to vector art, but not sure.

Yes you will need to convert the file to vector art. If you just used type and no crazy effects then what you should do is redo the design in Illustrator which is a vector program.

Q&A: What is the difference between Photoshop CS3/4 and Elements?

Question by April D: What is the difference between Photoshop CS3/4 and Elements?
I have Photoshop CS3, and would like to know the major differences between that and Photoshop Elements. I RARELY work with photos, and mostly do illustrations using the paint brush, custom shapes, shapes, polygonal lasso, lasso, eraser, and of course the FX. Does elements have all this?

Best answer:

Answer by chocotaste
Okay, for Elements, it has the paint brush and all the brushes that come with Photoshop, it has all the custom shapes that come with Photoshop and lassos, the eraser of course, and by FX, what do you mean? The only real illustration tool Elements doesn’t have is the Pen Tool.

Not sure if this one makes the cut, but i put enough effort into it to warrant a Flickr post. Let me know what you think… This is a "manual HDR" where I just did layering and masking in photoshop of my brackets. Photomatix did some pretty crazy things with this one.

I really liked the sun rays that peeked over this rock. I could only see them with my polarized sunglasses, so I used a polarizer to capture them. This is the kind of image HDR was designed for — extreme bright and dark.

So today I finally discovered (on a camera i’ve had almost a year) that I can do manual focus. YES! it just sucks that it isn’t as easy as turning the lense. Anyway this photo was my favorite in tone sooc… I’ve lately been really into messing around with the manual setting on my camera and I’m trying to get better shots straight off the camera.
…Though of course that doesn’t mean I don’t still love doing crazy photoshop
edits :P

And yes I know my eyes look wierd but I still like it & I’m not wearing makeup… so there :P
