Question by David: If I can’t afford College, How else can I learn Video Game Concept Art Techniques?
So i took Fine Arts for 4 years and get my degree in 2 months. BUT near the end of it found that I would rather do art for video games or TV.
However, my University doesn’t teach you how to make a portfolio. (they instead teach you where to find food when you starve)
I have the skills already to paint, traditionally and digitally, but lack the knowledge on what Concept artists are looking for in a portfolio.
Any tutorials, suggestions or sites you can hook me up with?
Best answer:
Answer by siepher_the_fallen The thing that art and trade schools don’t tell you up front is that you can get their entire education of the net for free. You just need to know where to look. If you already fill comfortable with fine arts you’re well on your way. I’m not sure if you already are aware, but some sites to check out are www.conceptart.org and www.cgsociety.org. I would go ahead and make a portfolio on CG society. Its a pretty legit place to ask for help and get your work critted by pros.
That said, games are an extremely competitive industry. Most studios do not not hire entry level concept artists. Keep in mind that you are also competing with guys that have 10 years of experience and a ton of triple A titles under their belts. A lot of people work their way up from being something else such as a 3D modeler or animator. Your best bet is to pick up some additional skills such as 3D or story boarding. Heck, your first job might not even be in games but cartoons on TV.
You’ll need a website and a digital reel. Very rarely do companies accept hard copy media anymore. Here’s an example from an animation student who’s now working as a concept artist:

For more info on 3D “barrow” a copy of 3Ds Max or Maya and look for basic tutorials on you-tube or Google. For 3D check out www.3dtotal.com and www.polycount.com

Clip in hair extensions are fairly new and most people don’t know what they are. I’ll try to explain exactly what are these hair extension are, why you would use them, how to use them and some pros and cons of the same.
Basically, clip in hair extensions are just some simple extensions that are attached by clipping. Hair extensions are made from real hair or from synthetic materials.
Why would you want extensions? Well, because hair accessories will add length, volume and thickness to your natural hair. And if you want to partially change your hair color or use some sort of gel or spray for styling, you don’t have to put those toxic substances on your real hair. You can do that to the extensions. Or better than that, you can buy the clip in hair extensions pre-made with the color, length or style you want.
]]>
How are regular extensions for hair different than the clip ones? Like the name suggests, clip in hair extensions are very easy to put on and to take off. There are different methods you can put extensions on, but the clipping method is the best.
And if you’re wondering how hard it is or how much time it will take you to maintain the clip extensions, let me put your mind at rest…You can maintain them with very little effort. Sometimes as simple as spraying a solution over the hair straps.
The prices for such extensions vary between and 0. For higher quality materials and more exquisite styles, you’ll have to pay over 0.
There are many advantages for extensions with clips, some of which are mentioned above. The disadvantage would be the cost in my opinion…if you want something of high quality you’ll have to pay over . I think that’s a little too much for a hair accessory. Other than this, I can’t seem to find any other disadvantage for these hair clips. They will help you look incredible in just a few short minutes.
For this to be a complete guide for clip in hair extensions, I also need to suggest some places where you can buy them. You can purchase these extensions online or offline, but online you’ll find better prices and a better selection. On the internet you may even find some great deals and coupons, so there’s another advantage for online shopping.
At our site we offer great information on extensions and clip in hair extensions for sale.We have a variety of extensions including the popular human hair extensions, which you can’t find very easily online.
Learn Guitar App: Over 50k downloads! mhlo.co In this video, Mahalo expert Gene Shaw will walk you through the foundations of the brush panel. Brush Panel ——————————————————————— You can create millions of custom brushes using the Brush Panel in Photoshop. Sometimes a pencil lead is too soft, and it gives you a darker line than you really want. The same goes for brush bristles or pen tips. If you have the wrong size, shape or amount of wear, you may need to use a different instrument. Sometimes, you’ll have to throw them away entirely. If this ever happens to you in Photoshop, you can simply adjust the size, shape, and even hardness of your brush.1. Open up the Brush Panel by clicking Window — Brush to make sure it’s checked.2. This panel is where you’ll be able to create and change different brushes. Photoshop has already built many presets into the program. The brushes that have drawings instead of the icon of what the brush looks like when you use it are called “bristle brushes.” If you have a Wacom or any other tablet and you click on the “eye” at the bottom of the panel, you’ll see an indicator on the screen that shows you the angle you’re holding your pen at on your tablet, and it also shows you how much pressure you’re applying when you draw a stroke.3. If you choose a brush with longer bristles, you’ll find that they actually spread out according to how much pressure you apply with your pen on the tablet.4. You can … Video Rating: 5 / 5
