Examples of Themed Wedding Invitations

Having a themed wedding provides for a unique wedding experience, one that you, your friends and family are sure to never forget. A themed wedding can also offer you a plethora of choices for your decisions, starting with themed wedding invitations. Let’s look at a few examples of themed wedding invitations.

Classic/Traditional Wedding

A classic / traditional wedding can also be viewed as a themed wedding! If you are thinking about going with an older style, you should choose invitations that match that idea. Beautifully scripted fonts on foil paper or cursive fonts on plain white paper stock with a textured border are both good examples of a classically themed wedding. You may also choose from a pink or purple so you can offset the more traditional white.

Everything is blooming roses

Flowers are a quintessential part of any wedding, and many couples choose roses as their wedding flower. Roses, along with calla lilies and daisies are the three most popular flower choices for weddings today. This common choice doesn’t have to be ordinary by any means. You may want to also think about taking your lilies, roses and daisies and putting them on your wedding invitations. Yes, this may be a common theme, but by choosing these beautiful wedding invitations, embossed, embellished or embedded in a beautiful color of card stock paper, they can provide you with the opening to a beauty inspired wedding.

Autumn weddings

Having an autumn wedding offers plenty of choices for themed wedding invitations. With beautiful and rich colors exploding in the fall, you can choose some of these impressive tones to accent your invitations. Colors of gold, dark red, browns and olive greens can offset each other beautifully. Couple these bold colors with seasonal aspects like leaves, trees, pine cones and the great outdoors and you have a beautiful wedding invitation.

Winter weddings

Winter wedding themes offer the unique clean aspect of crisp white coupled with icy blues. Snow, ice and frost may also be beautiful accents to your winter themed wedding invitations.

Your wedding destination

If you are hosting your wedding at a vacation destination, do not be afraid to use the destination as a theme for your invitations. If you are travelling somewhere warm and sunny for your wedding, use sandy beaches, sunshine and oceanic scenes to accent your invitations. Put together invites that provide a sneak peek at the rolling ocean encroaching on a sandy beach with the palm trees blowing in the warm breeze. Invite your guests to have some fun in the sun while celebrating your special day.

Western themes

Are you a western couple? Cowboy and cowgirl meet and ride off in the dusty sunset on a pair of magnificent horses? The couple is fully equipped with cowboy boots and hats. Use this theme in your wedding invitations to invite your friends to a western inspired wedding. Accents such as cowboy boots, cowboy and cowgirl silhouettes, spurs, cowboy hats and more can provide an interesting embellishment for your wedding invitation theme. Horses, corrals and ropes can also be used to accent your western theme.

Love is in the air

Of course, many couples are going to choose love as the underlying theme of their wedding. It makes perfect sense; their love for each other is what makes this wedding possible. Love as a theme does not have to be boring. The first thing most people think of when they think “love” is hearts. Heart themed wedding invitations can range from intricate scripted hearts to chunky pink hearts and everything in between. Hearts with flower petals embossed on a high quality paper stock will give you an interesting love-inspired themed wedding invitation.

Another choice for love-inspired invitations is interlocked rings. While this is common, it is no more ordinary than you are. Use interlocking rings as an accent in a deep shade of purple or blue to offset your other colors. This is where you can really get creative.

Your wedding should be your fairy tale romance, so choose something interesting like horse drawn carriages or a surprising castle for the background of your invitations.

Clip art of couples and wedding parties is also a standard in the wedding invitation industry. However, you can mix this up and make it unique to your own wedding by using your own silhouettes as the background for your invitation.

Make your invitation your own

Regardless of the theme of your wedding, you can create a unique, individual wedding invitation that couples the theme of your wedding with your own personal style. Even if the overall theme of your wedding is love or romance, take your own personal ideas of what this means to you and find an invitation that speaks from the heart. Hearts, flowers, rings, silhouettes and more can all be used to embellish your day.

Choose textures and layers

Even ‘standard’ wedding invitations can be embellished and really ‘pop’ when you add some texture to the paper. You can also try layers of different textures and physical embellishments. Ribbons, rings and paper trimmings can add depth to any wedding invitation.

Tips On Writing Baby Shower Invitations

Having a baby shower for a friend or family member is a wonderful event willed with the joy of welcoming a new life into the world. It can be a lot of fun planning for the baby shower event. Picking a theme, deciding on decorations, making a guest list and so on. While this takes some work and planning ahead of time it is often a labor of love and one that can be joyous. However, despite this fun many people struggle when they get to the baby shower invitation wording. It is easy to be at a loss for the right words to put on the baby shower invitation.

It does not need to be so difficult though and by following some simply guidelines this can also be very fun. Finding just the right words to write on the baby shower invitation can feel like a real accomplishment.

The following steps are suggestions that will help in finding the right wording for a baby shower invitation:

1. Use the Theme – If a theme has already been chosen for the event this will lend itself to writing the invitation easily. Try to pick up on the theme and use it to help write the words. For example if the theme is a stork bringing a cute baby you can easily write something like “Look at what the stroke is bringing”. Also try to use the theme to express the tone of the event. If the theme is informal then you will want the wording on the baby shower invitation to reflect this.
2. Rhymes – There are tons of nursery rhymes and fun kid songs that can quickly be adapted to make a very fun and easy baby shower invitation. For example use, “Row Row Row your boat, Gently to the Baby Shower” or some other rhyme that one can easily change the words for. Some suggestions might be Hickory Dickory Dock, Humpty Dumpty, or Baa Baa Black Sheep.

3. Poems – Poems are another great source of baby shower invitation wording that can easily be adapted to the event. For example everyone know the “Roses are red…”. By simply changing this to baby rattles are red, onsies are blue I love baby (insert name) and I bet you will too!

4. Quotes – Famous quotes about babies can be a wonderful source of wording for baby shower invitations also. These are so easy to find with the power of the internet. Just type in something like famous quotes and babies, or newborn and discover what comes up.

5. Internet – Another great resource for finding a fun baby shower invitation wording can be the Internet. Search for terms like baby shower invitation. Find some catchy themes and wording from these online samples and then make your own using these as a guide. Be careful to not copy exactly word for word the online invitations but use them as a template and then spice it up with your own version.

Don’t forget to also include the basic information. Things like the name of the guest of honor, when and where the event will take place. It can be helpful to include a small map for those traveling to a new place they have not been before. This will ensure that they arrive on time and in a calm happy mood ready to celebrate the baby to be.

Some other optional ideas to include might be places where the couple has registered for gifts. It can also be helpful to the organizer of the shower to include a way for guests to RSVP. Make sure you include a date to RSVP by and a phone number and contact name.

As important as the wording for a baby shower invitation can be the artwork and presentation can be equally important. Including fun graphics, clip art and other add-ons that can help carry the theme for the event can be lot of fun. The main tip is to plan ahead and leave yourself extra time to complete the task. This will help you relax and simply have fun with the invitation. You can easily master baby shower invitation wording if you simply relax and have fun. Baby shower invitations written in love will express the right wording no matter what.

How to Create Amazing Casual Wedding Invitations

When choosing to use casual invitations for your wedding, you are given an endless amount of amazing ways to incorporate personalization into your theme. From color choices, to wording, photos, and fonts, you can customize casual wedding invitations to an extent that formal invitations simply do not allow. Below are ten surefire ways to create beautiful, casual wedding invitations that reflect your wedding and the undeniable love that you and your significant other share.

Start with a theme that describes the love you two share.

Begin by exploring the hundreds of wedding invitation designs available both online and in stores. If you choose an online wedding site that is able to help you with multiple aspects of planning your wedding, then you can color coordinate your invitations with the rest of your wedding theme. You can also refine your choices according to your motif whether they are floral, hearts, contemporary, romantic or anything else you desire. If you are having trouble picking your theme, browse the available templates to get inspired.

Choose colors that you love.

The use of color is one of the most eye-catching ways to set your invitations apart from any others. For a more contemporary approach you can opt for using a subtle color theme such as a plain lined border on a white card. If you are choosing to have a more eccentric wedding theme, try splashing the invitation canvas with a vibrant floral print such as the eco-friendly American Dream theme, in your choice of poppy orange or delphinium blue. The use of color in a wedding invitation can really bring them to life while tying in with your overall theme.

Consider font.

While you are choosing your colors, it is important to also consider the font style and color. You can choose from a wide variety of colors for your invitation text from black to red and everything in between. It is wise to choose a color that will really pop and stand out on your invitation. Certain styles, such as the striking Rose style, will allow you to choose two ink colors including one for the invitation text and another for the names of the bride and groom.

Invitation Style.

When choosing your invitation it is important to ask yourself if you would prefer a traditional flat card invitation or a folded invitation. Perhaps you would be interested in a double-fold gatefold with die-cut edges enclosing your invitation, or maybe a postcard style invitation printed with your favorite photo of you and your significant other. You can narrow your choices by style until you find an invitation that reflects the wedding ceremony that you are planning. There are endless options from which to choose, the most popular invitation styles including vertical and horizontal bordered cards, and cards that fold into the center.

Match your invitation to your wedding theme.

Try to check out wedding invitations that are designed to match your overall wedding theme. If you are having a beach wedding, or a wedding in a tropical location, try to pick out invitations with a destination theme in mind. For example, you can easily find romantic wedding invitations embellished with embossed seashells or colorful Riviera Stripes for the more contemporary bride. If you are getting married in a castle you can choose a wedding invitation embossed with a castle and knight in shining armor in subtle pearl. Doing a little shopping around can inform you on everything available from country style invitations with gingham check borders to stylish ultra-contemporary wedding invitations splashed with a single bright calla lily in your choice of color.

Customize the wording of your wedding invitation.

It is important to choose the right words for your wedding invitation. If you are unsure as to how to word everything you want to say to your potential guests, you can get help from a wedding invitation wording template. Whether you are requesting the honor of your guest’s presence, or asking for the pleasure of their company, there are many ways to word your wedding invitation to achieve a more personal and casual tone. You might, for instance, invite your wedding guests to “Come share our joy as we start our lives together” or “Celebrate with us, we’re getting hitched!” Options are endless.

Add personal flourishes to your invitation text.

When putting together your casual wedding invitation, you can also choose tiny flourishes or embellishments to serve as borders or separators within your invitation text. Those little flourishes can work to add some casual flavor to your wedding invitations or to give them a hint of formality. Top your wedding invitation text with stylized wedding bells, or perhaps a little cartoon bride and groom, for a more casual approach. Add calligraphic swirls for a hint of formality to an otherwise casual invitation. Keep in mind that very little touches can make a huge impression in the overall appeal of your wedding invitation.

Tie your invitations together.

One of the most popular wedding invitation trends of the last few years is the ribbon tie wrap. Satin ribbon wraps with flat bows are a nod to romance, but you can give it a decidedly casual flair by changing the ribbon material. Instead of the more common satin or organza option, choose raffia for a country style invitation or a thin polka dot grosgrain ribbon for a fresh, contemporary casual look.

Wrap your invitation in vellum

Vellum jackets are not just for formal invitations anymore. They can beautifully add a delicate touch to any casual or contemporary invitation style. Choose a plain folded jacket and seal it with a gold foil seal stamped with the word love. Jackets and wraps can add a special touch to casual and contemporary invitations. Foil seals or ribbons can be used to tie the jacket closed.

Buy blank invitations and do it all yourself.

The more you do yourself, the more you can personalize your invitations. By choosing to print your invitations at home you can choose your favorite font, rearrange the lines and wording, or even add your own clipart or personal artwork.

Tea Party Invitations You Can Make at Home

Tea party invitations are an important part of the etiquette associated with the time honored tradition of a tea party, and taking the time to hand make your invites will add a personal and intimate touch that your guests will appreciate.<br>

Whether young ladies playing princess for a day, mothers and daughters sipping tea in the garden, or good friends enjoying an afternoon escape, tea parties are a favorite choice because they epitomize class, elegance, and true refinement. They teach young girls etiquette and sophistication and remind grown ladies that it is sometimes necessary to set aside busy schedules, pull the fancy gown from the back of the closet, and simply take the time to feel beautiful.<br>

And even before the table is set or the tea is brewed, the perfect party begins with the perfect invitation. Invitations have the power to create a sense of anticipation and excitement that will have your guests rushing to mark the date on their calendars. Even if you have very little artistic ability, it is simple to make a lovely invite for any tea party theme.<br>

Teapot Invitations: What better way to welcome friends to an afternoon tea than with a charming teapot invitation. Use a clip art program or visit the scrapbooking section of your local craft store and find a teapot template. Trace the pattern onto floral wallpaper or wrapping paper and glue to a piece of cardstock folded in half. Cut your teapot out, remembering to leave a portion of the fold attached, and print the party details inside. Top off with a little ribbon bow, slip a tea bag inside, or trace a gilded edge using a gold marker. If you want something a little simpler, trace the template onto blank cards and decorate with lace, flowers, and sparkly stickers.<br>

Teabag Invitations: Print the party information on a template of a teabag, or make miniature invitations that can be attached to individually wrapped teabags. You could even trace a cup and saucer pattern onto colored paper, decorate with flower stickers, attach a teabag to the opening of the cup, and print the party details on a tiny folded square of paper stapled to the end of the teabag string.<br>

Formal Cards: Use beautiful floral stationary and note cards, tea stained vellum, or fancy paper doilies to make sophisticated tea party invitations. Hand print the details or use a computer to design an insert for the cards and decorate with miniature dried flowers, ribbons, lace, buttons, and tasteful stickers. Cards can be wrapped in classy wallpaper or gift wrap and tied with a wide ribbon. If you have the time, you could even try your hand at making your own envelopes. For something simple yet creative, set an elegantly decorated tea time table, take a picture of your handiwork, and use the photo as your invitation. You may even wish to dress your little girl in a wide brimmed hat, lacy gloves, and feather boa and capture a picture of a whimsical teddy bear tea. By using seasonal colors, patterns, and accessories, you can make the perfect invitation for any holiday or theme.<br>

Unique Invitations: If mailing costs are not an issue or if you are able to hand deliver your invitations, you may want to purchase a tin of loose leaf tea and either insert your invitation inside or create your own label outlining the party details. Use a fine tip marker to print the invitation on miniature cups and saucers found in a child’s play set or purchased from a gift shop. Decorate a magnetic, foam, or wood picture frame and insert the invitation, which can later be replaced by a tea party photo. Purchase ornamental Victorian hats, or use a paper template, and decorate lavishly with lace, beads, and feathers. Print the invitation on a tiny scroll, wrap with a ribbon, and attach it to the hat.<br>

Making your own invitations requires a little time and patience, but they will add a special touch of you and make your tea party truly unique and memorable.

Simple Graduation Invitations

Graduation invitations can seem like the start of the celebrations. When it is time to issue the invitations have had various opportunities to experience it all with our children. Our outgoing daughter was all set for a big graduation celebration. She was looking forward to the ceremony, spending the last few moments with family and friends and also the party that we had arranged. Our son on the other hand wanted to get away from it all and play sports with his friends. For both of them we wanted to be equal in our treatment and also give their relatives a chance to spend time with them. Like most parents we pushed on and had a party at home for which we issued graduation invitations about 8 weeks before the party.

The first thing I noticed looking back was the different approaches we took to designing the invitations and to the whole party. This was not intentional but just kind of happened naturally. Our daughter would spend lots of time with guests, have a great time socialising, playing games, dancing and laughing. The design for her invitations was bright, colourful and the wording was the same. Our son was going to be quite reticent. He would be polite and welcome guests. He did enjoy the party but in a quieter way. He ended up playing hoops with his friends in the driveway in between doing his duties.  The design for his graduation invitations ended up much more sporting and straightforward. Thinking about it now this was actually perfect as it reflected his personality.

One of the key lessons learned was to make sure the invitations reflected the personality of the graduate and also the occasion. We were having an informal party at our home and the invitations were informal as a result. If we had been having a formal party with formal attire we would have made formal invitations. If we had been having a beach party the invitations would have had a beach theme. However I would add that the type of party probably should reflect the graduate’s taste and wishes.

For formal graduation invitations you could use a professional printer who can help you with the design. This could be a minimalist design with something like high quality white paper, a single scroll and red ribbon and formal wording with absolutely correct etiquette. I think this would reflect the occasion and also guests would understand the type of party they were attending.

For an informal party at home you can make the invitations yourself. Using clipart images such as caps and scrolls you can easily make your own. You can add all the wording required and print them onto either printer paper or choose a colored or higher quality paper. For close family you could add a personal message at the bottom of the invitation.

There are lots of party themes. The theme will of course drive the design, wording and perhaps expense of the invitations. However for most party themes you can control costs and produce very good invitations yourself.

I hope your graduation invitations set the scene for your graduation parties.

I love horse riding, dancing, looking after my children and graduation invitations.

The Important Role Of Invitations

Most of us would never believe that the success of a soiree depended upon party invitations. Honestly, not many people bother even sending out invitations to announce social events. Sure, we may draw up a map and make copies of it so people can make it from work to our homes, but that’s about the extent of any formal party announcement. Still, as we age and progress in our lives, parties become less social and more business oriented which is why party invitations become so critical.

When you think about it, party invitations are really everyone’s first and only chance to decide whether an engagement is worthy of attending. Successful parties are almost always those with more people and party invitations are a sure way to boost attendance.

Party invitations can also provide potential guests with clues as to proper dress and etiquette. A well-placed piece of clip art can tell people whether it is a black tie event or a less formal affair. People hate arriving at a party under or over-dressed, so be sure to use your party invitations as a means of informing guests as to proper attire.

Now, there are some standard pieces of information that all party invitations must have in order to be effective. You definitely need to include the time, date, and location of your event. It is also a great idea to leave a RSVP number for people to call.

The RSVP aspect of party invitations often gets overlooked as a huge potential advantage to the host or hostess. Think about it: By knowing how many people will definitely be attending your event, you can avoid buying too much food and supplies (or worse-too little!). In reality, therefore, party invitations are not an unneeded added expense to your event. Actually, they are a way to keep costs down and better organize and coordinate things at the party.

Also, party invitations need not be expensive accessories for your engagement. With some decent software and a printer, you can even create your own party invitations at minimal cost. Even if you need to go out and actually buy the invitations, there are a host of low-cost options available to you that will surely not break the budget.

So, party invitations are a great way to boost attendance at social engagements. They can also be used to give guests clues about proper attire and conduct. And although party invitations may add cost, they can actually be used to save you money by including an RSVP number on them so you can know precisely how many guests to expect. When its all said and done, party invitations just make good sense and will benefit you more in the long run than opting not to use them.

where can i find free clipart or images of baby dragons suitable for baby shower invitations?

I am hosting a baby shower in January. The baby is a boy, and parents have decided to name the little angel “Solon” which i guess means dragon. They want to go with this theme of dragons for baby, and since I am hosting the shower and STILL have not got the invitations finished, I figured I might as well scrap the poo ones I have and redo them with dragon image, but can’t find one suitable for baby shower invitations.
