Adobe Premiere wont import Handycam files….HELP!?

Question by Shaz: Adobe Premiere wont import Handycam files….HELP!?
I got a Sony Handycam yesterday with an aim to make documentary films.
Today, after doing some filming, when I tried to import the .MPG files in premiere pro cs5, it said that the files are corrupted etc.
However, the files play fine on VLC and WMM.
I have read that many users have faced this problem..
Is there a solution?? If yes, then please help!

Answer by Annie
Have you tried to bring the files into Adobe Bridge and then to Adobe Premiere? some one in the Answers has tried this one and successfully solve the problem. Or you can find a converter to change the .mpg files to avi formats. They can definitely be editted in Adobe Premiere without any problem. As for the converter, I’m using brorsoft video converter, but mainly for converting files to mp4 and put the converted videos into my tablet. They are great so I believe you can get a satisfying result with it. Whatever, you can try the Adobe Bridge first.

Is there any way to import a 3G2 video into Adobe Premiere Pro?

Question by TheRaven: Is there any way to import a 3G2 video into Adobe Premiere Pro?
I’m making a small movie and want to incorporate some of the videos ive taken on my phone into it (LG VX8700 is the phone). Since 3G2 isnt supported in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, i downloaded a converter that converted the 3G2 file to an AVI. However, once imported into Premiere, the audio and video were severely out of sync. I researched it, and learned that during the conversion process from 3G2 to AVI the frame rate had been shifted, and as I had a hard enough time finding any kind of free 3G2 to AVI converter, I doubt I’m going to find one that allows you to set the frame rate of the output video. So im wondering if theres any conceivable way to use the original 3G2 file in Adobe, or perhaps some little trick Adobe has? I tried the ‘interpret footage’ option but when I switched the frame rate I just got the same result as if I had changed the speed/duration setting of the clip: a still-out-of-sync video but slower. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!
By the way, I used Quicktime to find the frame rate of the original video, it said 13 fps, but there was another heading below it that said Framerate in video or something like that, and that number would fluctuate anywhere between 12 and 14 or 15. Perhaps this is important?
Super C is the one i used originally, but it only lets you select one of four frame rates for the output video, none of which are the same or multiples of the original clip (which is required for them to be in sync, right?)
