Question by : How do you change the resolution of an image in Adobe Illustrator CS5?
Also when making a logo in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop CS5, how do you make it so that the image is always crystal clear no matter what size?

Only vector drawings have the capability to remain unaffected when they are resized. So you have to make your logo in Illustrator if you want it that way. About setting resolution in Illustrator, this tutorial will show you how to do:

Question by Ms. M: How to set transparent white area on an image in Adobe Illustrator?
Hi there I want to use an image that I copy/pasted from google. It is a drawing of a rose and it is black while the background is white, How to I set the white part to transparent using Adobe Illustrator? Thank you

Use the pen tool and draw path around the image, then make a mask(under the Object menu) but before you make the mask select both and the patch you made and that’s basically all haha.

Question by A C: Adobe Photoshop trick anyone? sharpen an image?
im trying to make a low resolution image more detailed and visible. got any tips with adobe photoshop to make this work? the sharpen tool doesnt quite cut it.

High resolution can go to low, but low can’t go to high (without extreme quality loss). No tool can fix that.

Is Adobe Photoshop undisputedly number one program for image editing in the industry?

Photoshop is an Adobe Systems Product. Now days Adobe Systems is one of the biggest software development companies in the world. This company provides all multimedia application for all community designers. Graphic designers are using its Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, and Freehand etc. Web designers are using its Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Sound Booth, and Fireworks etc. Post-production artists are using Photoshop, Premiere, Sound Booth, and After Effects etc.

All above explanation is showing that photoshop belongs to the biggest technologies owning community. Now, I am going to tell you about why Photoshop is necessary for each and every designer of graphic designing, web designing, animation, photography and video editing industry. Photoshop has strong ties with other Adobe software for media editing, animation, and authoring. The .PSD (Photoshop Document), Photoshop’s native format, stores an image with support for most imaging options available in Photoshop.

In 1987, Thomas Knoll, a PhD student at the University of Michigan, began writing a program on his Macintosh Plus to display grayscale images on a monochrome display. This program, called Display, caught the attention of his brother John Knoll, an Industrial Light & Magic employee, who recommended Thomas turn it into a full-fledged image editing program. Thomas took a six month break from his studies in 1988 to collaborate with his brother on the program, which had been renamed ImagePro. Later that year, Thomas renamed his program Photoshop and worked out a short-term deal with scanner manufacturer Barneyscan to distribute copies of the program with a slide scanner; a “total of about 200 copies of Photoshop were shipped” this way.

During this time, John traveled to Silicon Valley and gave a demonstration of the program to engineers at Apple Computer Inc. and Russell Brown, art director at Adobe. Both showings were successful, and Adobe decided to purchase the license to distribute in September 1988. While John worked on plug-ins in California, Thomas remained in Ann Arbor writing program code. Photoshop 1.0 was released in 1990 for Macintosh exclusively, and now the latest released version of Photoshop is cs4.

How To Cut Out Image Using Adobe Photoshop Software Selection Tools – How To Create A Frame for a Photo

This is actually a fairly simple task — although many of the Photoshop authors make it seem more difficult than it really is. Using logic, the portion of the image to be popped out of the frame must be separated from the original image and raised to a higher level, in front of the frame, while leaving the original photo in tact. This technique works in any image software which has layers.

1. Cut out the image: Using any of the software’s selection tools you wish, make an accurate selection of the portion of the image you wish to pop.
In this example we used a combination of the Lasso and Magnetic Lasso to carve out the front of the car. Tip: to save time, cut only the part that will pop out.

Lift the image: Once your selection is accurate, and ready to go, duplicate it onto its own layer by using the “float” command (Cmd/J or Ctrl/J)

You can see the nose of the Jaguar is now on its own layer. (#1 in the layers palette) Note that it’s just the nose — no use to select more than you have to. It will match perfectly with the original image on the background layer and provide a seamless pop-out.

2. Create the Frame: Now, in a new layer, you can create the frame for the photo. Here we simply used a white background with the frame cut out. Layer #2 in the diagram.

At this point you can decorate or modify the frame any way you wish — textures, borders, etc.
Key Concept: Layer Sequencing. Always remember that the stacking order of your layers affects the final product. As you look at the file, you’ll understand that the layers were generated in that specific stack order to achieve the effect — even though they may not have been created in that order.

Also note that we did all the selection work on a COPY of the background, just in case we flubbed something up, or needed to go back and get more of the image. The “work” layer can be deleted, and the whole image flattened when complete.
