Well its very simple, u must be having some basic idea of graphics n colors since u asked this question & i dont have to go very detailed to pinpoint the scales, Open photoshop open a pic, go to image ie next to file ,edit, scroll down image u got Mode & Adjustments- go to mode choose ur RGB or CMYK mode, then to adjustments header, try levels if ur thorough, then curves, then u got color balance, hue etc, finally go to Selective color & then choose ur color according to the % ur dark grey to lighter grey needs, since ur adjusting the %s u decide on ur visibility n fix it, n save it.
