Addiction Treatment Center Florida – How to Find the Right One

As you begin your search for an Addiction Treatment Center Florida, you are going to find that you have more than one choice. While it is good to have several options, it can also make the process of selecting a center a bit more difficult. As long as you know what you are looking for, though, things should work out for you in the end.

The first step in finding an addiction treatment center is determining which part of the state is best for you. Some people like to stay close to home while others would rather get away from their hometown to ensure that all bad influences are far away. This is a decision that only you can make.

Moving on, you need to pay close attention to which addiction treatment centers have the best reputation for helping people in your situation. No matter what type of addiction you have – drug or alcohol – there is going to be a rehab program that can help you get back on track. Your goal should be to find the one that is best for you based on the services that they offer. This is not nearly as challenging as many people believe.

Did you know that you can call to speak with a representative of a addiction treatment center if you have questions? This is something to consider no matter if you are going to enter the facility to get rehab for yourself or if you are trying to assist somebody else.

It is important to compare as many programs and centers as you can find. This is the only way to know for sure that you are making a good decision. If nothing else, do your best to look into three facilities. This will give you a good feel for what is out there and which one you should choose to check into.

How much does it cost? This is an important question for most people. If you do not know how you are going to afford the services of a addiction treatment center, you may want to contact the facility right away to see if they have any suggestions. You may be surprised to find that you are able to receive financial aid – this can go a long way in making everything much more affordable.

Now that you have some basic knowledge as to how you can find the right addiction treatment center, it is time to start your search. In no time at all, you will be ready to make a decision. Remember, the sooner you find a program the sooner you can get the help that you really need. There is no better time than now to make a choice.

Final word of advice: it may seem that all addiction treatment centers are the same, but this is not the case. You need to realize that there are pros and cons of all of them. This way you can be assured of making a decision that is right for you.

Do u know how to find a radio school?

Question by nin6: Do u know how to find a radio school?
Do u know how to find a radio school in Houston… but not a college, just a special school for communications

thank u

Best answer:

Answer by brdcstr
A couple of things to look for when searching out a radio school, Lila, since radio is a lot about WHO you know, as well as what you know.

1) does the school place you in a learning environment where not only you’ll be trained by someone in the business, but you’ll also be able to network with other industry pros?

Obviously this is important for the immediate benefits of increasing your chances for being hired, but also it lays the groundwork for future job prospects.

2) Does the school offer a legitimate job placement service that you can see? Many radio schools talk about offering this type of service, but few actually put their money where their mouth is.

3) Is the student to teacher ratio low enough to insure you’ll be getting your moneys worth? Obviously, a 1-1 ratio is best, but ask around and find the best fit for your learning style.

4) Are the training times convenient with your schedule?

5) Is it affordable and do they offer financing?

I’m not super familiar with Houston, but I could highly recommend this company since I worked with them when I was in sports radio in Washington, D.C. a few years back.

They’ll actually place you in a radio station in Houston, in order to be mentored by one of the on-air talent at the station.

Also, here’s a link to a free report the guy I used to work with wrote.

FM antenna is easy to make, just like a U shape close loop to feed with 300 ohms transmission line. A book called Radio antenna handbook has its design in detail. Pick the middle frequency between 98mc till 108mc. If you only want this antenna uses as a transmitter, use the carrier frequency.

… message header for The Prisoner – Number Six

The series follows an unnamed British agent who abruptly resigns his job, apparently preparing to go on a holiday. While packing his luggage, he is knocked out by a chemical agent in his quarters.

When he wakes, he finds himself held captive in a mysterious seaside "village" that is isolated from the mainland by mountains and sea. The Village is further secured by numerous monitoring systems and security forces, including a mysterious balloon-like device called Rover that recaptures those who attempt escape.

The agent encounters the Village’s population, hundreds of people from all walks of life and cultures, all seeming to be tranquilly living out their lives. They do not use names, but instead are assigned numbers; the protagonist is assigned Number Six, but ostentatiously refuses to go by this, refusing to give into the pretense.

This is the best TV show. It has the perfect introduction, even today the stories told in each episode are still relevant. It could be said that the show was a taste of what we are now seeing in the society we live in here and now.

When record executives started calling, Ilan Eckhardt decided he’d rather move to Israel than become a rock star in Los Angeles. “There’re so many people that end up pursuing a career, and it blows up and they run out of steam and motivation, because they weren’t mature enough,” the soft-spoken 19-year-old Midwesterner explained. “I wanted to make sure I was mature enough and the perfect outlet was Israel. Nothing makes someone more mature than a sense of purpose and meaning.”

If you’ve been watching Israel’s popular musical reality television show “Rising Star” (“HaKochav Ha’Ba”), it’s obvious why the music industry is so interested in him. Eckhardt sings and plays several instruments, and with blonde hair and blue eyes doesn’t look like he’d be out of place in an Abercrombie & Fitch catalog. Eckhardt easily cruised to the semi-finals by crooning an up-tempo Jason Mraz ballad. What you probably didn’t know was that Eckhardt, who made aliyah last year, honed his musical and singing chops while performing at dozens of NCSY Shabbatons and other events throughout his teen years.

“It was great practice for what I’m doing now,” he said by phone from Israel. “It really opened me up to being able to involve the audience, which is a big part of performing. NCSY is all about the ruach [spirituality]… People don’t realize how powerful music can be.”

For a child growing up in Milwaukee, WI, the Orthodox Union’s international youth movement also served another vital role for Eckhardt, who attended his first Shabbaton as a fifth grader.

“If it wasn’t for NCSY I wouldn’t have felt such a strong need to come to Israel,” he said. “ I don’t think I would have felt it as necessary as it is to be involved with other Jewish people my age.”

Eckhardt, the son of an opera singer and a concert pianist, learned how to play the piano from his grandmother, who lived with the family.

“She was a live-in teacher, which was awesome,” he said. Other instruments he picked up included violin, guitar and saxophone. Since the local Jewish high school forbade listening to secular music, Eckhardt enrolled in Cooper Yeshiva High School for Boys in Memphis.

“They gave me the freedom to express myself through my music, which is what I needed,” he said.

In Memphis he met Rabbi Marc Lennon, the head of Memphis NCSY, who introduced him to Jewish music. He also formed a close relationship with Rabbi Micah Greenland, the director of Midwest NCSY who currently serves as the organization’s interim international director.

“Ilan was an incredibly passionate and involved NCSYer in the Midwest region throughout his high school years,” Rabbi Greenland said. “His talent and enthusiasm for music were evident early on, as he sang and played instruments informally at Shabbatons shortly after becoming active in NCSY. Later, he took the initiative in putting together a teen band in NCSY, leading a team of other musicians in bringing incredible inspiration and energy to hundreds of other teens in Midwest NCSY. Ilan fused his aptitude and flair for music with his love for Torah and spirituality.”

After videos of Eckhardt appeared on YouTube, record labels reached out to him. At first, he didn’t believe the inquiries were legitimate. He learned that they were but realized they probably had him in mind for a pop music boy-band. (He wasn’t too off the mark: The headline of a recent profile of Eckhardt in the Haaretz newspaper declared, “If One Direction had an Orthodox Jewish Member, This is What He Would Look Like.” Don’t be fooled by his good looks though, Eckhardt is a serious musician whose tastes ranges from pop to classical and jazz. He names as his favorite musician the singer Jeff Buckley, who released just one album before his untimely death.

“He brought so much feeling into every song and that’s something even the best musicians don’t even do,” he said. “He really meant what he was playing and that’s rare.”

After high school, Eckhardt opted to attend Yeshivat Orayta in the Old City of Jerusalem. He spent the year engrossed in learning Torah, but made time for music. While busking on Yafo Street he met his future competitors, two other semi- finalists of “Rising Stars”: Aryeh and Gil Gat, two chasidic guitarists whose version of “Song of Silence” has gone viral.

By chance, one motza’ei Shabbat, Eckhardt ended up near the bar where “Rising Stars” was doing a first-round of auditions. Several months later he got the callback to appear on the show. Eckhardt’s performance aired last week.

Eckhardt was eliminated from the competition on Tuesday night, but win or lose, he’d already made plans to enlist in the Israel Defense Force next year. Wherever he ends up, he credits the Orthodox Union’s NCSY with helping him get there.

“You meet other Jewish kids your age, which for kids in small towns is something you need,” he said about his NCSY experience. “ When there aren’t other Jewish kids it’s really easy to lose your Jewish identity.”

What does change look like?

For Alfred Nobel, the beginning of change looked like an obituary in a French newspaper: his own. Nobel, a Swedish arms-manufacturer, invented dynamite. He never married, had no heirs, and though he was a cultured man, he devoted most of his time and effort to devising ever more sophisticated weaponry. In 1855, when Nobel was 55 years old, one of his brothers passed away (another brother had previously died in an explosion in one of Nobel’s factories), and a newspaper erroneously printed an obituary not for his brother but for Alfred Nobel himself.

It didn’t make pretty reading. “The merchant of death” it called him. Alfred Nobel became rich figuring out ways to kill more people faster than ever before, the paper reported. Nobel was horrified.

It might have seemed like a mistake at the time, but this obituary turned out to be a huge gift for Nobel. In those first horrible moments as he read his legacy in black and white, Nobel must also have seen a very different obituary in his mind’s eye: he surely pictured what he wished his tribute said instead. Desperate to make the epitaph of his imagination – the one which would capture the way Nobel wished to be remembered – a reality, he eventually established the Nobel Prize, the world’s most prestigious awards for peace, literature, chemistry, medicine, and physics.

—– Picturing Change

In one of the most pivotal moments in the entire Torah, Moses tells the Jewish people “Pay attention and hear, O Israel: this day you have a people to God your Lord” (Deut. 27:9).

Rabbi Ovadia Sforno, the great Italian commentator on the Bible, wrote: “’Pay attention’ means ‘visualize this in your mind.’” Taking a moment to picture where you’re going is the first, most important, step to getting there. It helps make sure we won’t waste time with distractions that will lure us away from our goals.

Scientists have recently begun to study just how powerful visualizing our goals can be. There is now a wealth of research to back up what Jewish thinkers have known for generations: picturing where we want to go is a powerful step to getting there.

In one groundbreaking study, researchers compared people who exercised with those who didn’t. Unsurprisingly, the exercisers increased their strength and the non-exercisers did not. But a third group of people – those who merely visualized exercise – experienced a measurable surge in muscle tone too. For these subjects, using their minds was a huge part of getting to where they wanted to be (in this case, greater muscle mass).

As Theodor Herzl famously said, “If you will it, it’s no dream.” We see it time and again in Jewish history: when we take the time to visualize where we want to be, to consider what it is we are living for and hope to achieve, then the excitement this generates helps carry us towards our goals.

For the fortunate among us, that can be an “aha!” moment when we’re brought face to face with the reality of our situation. There is a powerful story in the Talmud about a wicked man named Eliezer ben Durdia. One day someone said to him, jokingly, that he was so awful there was no way he’d ever enjoy a portion in the next world. Eliezer ben Durdia was appalled; he realized that deep down he truly wanted to be a good person. Confronted with the consequences of his choices and the enormous regret that ensued, he made the herculean choice to return from his wicked ways and attained his portion in the World to Come. He even earned the title “Rabbi.”

At times, a picture of our better selves can come from those who love us. This is what happened to Rabbi Akiva, one of the greatest Jewish sages who lived in Israel in the 1st Century CE. He was a poor, illiterate shepherd, but Rachel, the daughter of a rich and illustrious Jerusalem family, saw his great potential.
She told Akiva she would marry him if he began to study, so at the age of 40, Rabbi Akiva began to learn Torah in earnest, eventually growing into the vision Rachel had shared with him: he was a learned and esteemed Torah scholar.

—– Finding our Direction

The Hebrew word for repentance is teshuva, which means return. It reflects the Jewish view that God created each of us to fulfill our own special goals, and even though we might stray from them, we have the power to go back to them, to return to the ultimate vision we have of ourselves.

During the Ten Days of Teshuva which we are presently in, we are each challenged to pause and visualize our proper place in the universe. Who do we want to be? What goals are we passionately committed to achieving this year?

Visualization gives us the clarity and vision to see what obstacles are holding us back from our dreams. Reflecting on the big picture of what type of person we desire to become also helps keep us energized towards our goal.
.

To help get you started, try to set aside a few quiet minutes and consider the following five questions:

1… Imagine for a moment that you are Alfred Nobel, reading a summary of your life. What would it say?

2… What is the ideal obituary you would like to read about your life? (If you have the time, spend a few minutes on this one. Think about what you’d like your life to ideally look like and write it up as an obituary.)

3… What are you doing right to get you to your goals?

4… What factors are holding you back?

5… Strategize for a moment. Think about one new step you can take to move you closer to your goal.
Whether it’s enrolling in a class, joining a study group, or resolving not to turn on the TV after dinner but have quality time instead, what will start to move you towards your targets?
.

Getting back on track can take an instant of resolve, but for most of us it’s a long process. Rabbi Akiva, the sage who enrolled in school at 40, spent many years studying before he fulfilled his vision of himself. Even in the modern age, it takes time to reach our goals.

As we work on realizing our vision for ourselves, there are a few practical steps we can take. Surrounding ourselves with people who share similar values and goals helps strengthen our resolve. Sometimes, enrolling in a class or joining a group gives us the support we need not to get distracted. Finally, opening a dialogue with God is another powerful way to help connect us to the people we ultimately wish to be.

Every one of us has greatness. Now is the time to envision it and commit to making that dream come true.

Soldiers of the Scots Guards are pictured standing beside the Scots Guardsman steam train, following a short trip for the Olympic flame in York.

Story:
Olympic fever departed York today, as the torch boards the Scots Guardsman at the National Railway Museum for the final leg of its journey through North Yorkshire.

The museum will open its doors early so guests can watch the Olympic torch depart for Thirsk and make its journey through the county passing Northallerton, Aiskew, Bedale, Aysgarth, Leyburn and Richmond.

The Catterick-based Scots Guards Regimental Band will be in attendance along with soldiers from 1st Battalion the Scots Guards, who will be wearing their infamous red tunic to support this once in a lifetime event.

The Scots Guardsman (train) was built in 1927 and is one of only two remaining of the original 70 LMS Royal Scot Class locomotives built, all of which were named after regiments in the British Army.
