Flicktion in a Flickr of an Eye 19

After about ten hours working on this Flicktion, diamond eyes, soulless eyes I remembered a very troubling story that took place many years ago. It was near Dartmouth in a part of Nova Scotia where there were many African Canadians. The woman who told me about this had children who were both African Canadian and white and they were all extremely beautiful, especially their eyes.
She told me of how in this rural community cars would drive through in the middle of the night, a car door would open and close and the car could be heard vanishing in the night. Then they would hear a cry, the anguished cry of a baby. Someone would go quickly and gather the abandoned child in their arms. A twin city of Africville had a new resident.
I never knew if this was an urban legend or not. It would be impossible to really know unless you were there. And it happened a long time ago.
I started thinking about a student who told me she was brought up by her First Nations grandmother and that somehow she was also related to Nova Scotian black community and I remembered her eyes that are diamond eyes.
There is no truth only Flicktion.
The Sorceror’s Hat

After Fantasmic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I kept my 100mm f/2 on the camera for some interesting night shots. I like the way a prime lens forces you to think more about composition. This would have been a lot wider if I was using my zoom, but I like how big the hat seems here. I’m actually quite fond of the Sorceror’s Hat – the colors look great at night. It is a shame that it blocks the Chinese Theater though.
