Flicktion in a Flickr of an Eye 19

After about ten hours working on this Flicktion, diamond eyes, soulless eyes I remembered a very troubling story that took place many years ago. It was near Dartmouth in a part of Nova Scotia where there were many African Canadians. The woman who told me about this had children who were both African Canadian and white and they were all extremely beautiful, especially their eyes.

She told me of how in this rural community cars would drive through in the middle of the night, a car door would open and close and the car could be heard vanishing in the night. Then they would hear a cry, the anguished cry of a baby. Someone would go quickly and gather the abandoned child in their arms. A twin city of Africville had a new resident.

I never knew if this was an urban legend or not. It would be impossible to really know unless you were there. And it happened a long time ago.

I started thinking about a student who told me she was brought up by her First Nations grandmother and that somehow she was also related to Nova Scotian black community and I remembered her eyes that are diamond eyes.

There is no truth only Flicktion.

The Sorceror’s Hat

After Fantasmic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I kept my 100mm f/2 on the camera for some interesting night shots. I like the way a prime lens forces you to think more about composition. This would have been a lot wider if I was using my zoom, but I like how big the hat seems here. I’m actually quite fond of the Sorceror’s Hat – the colors look great at night. It is a shame that it blocks the Chinese Theater though.

How do I view camera images in adobe bridge?

Question by : How do I view camera images in adobe bridge?
I have adobe photoshop cs4 extended. I downloaded the 5.7 version of the camera plug in. I got it to work in photoshop, but my images still aren’t showing up in bridge. I’m not sure what I did wrong?

Best answer:

Answer by Eliot K
1) Are you sure that you have updated to a version of Bridge that supports your camera’s raw format?

2) I recommend using your operating system to transfer files from card/camera to a specific folder. I create a folder with the subjects’ names and the date of the shoot, and then transfer all images to that folder.

3) Once you know the files are there, make a backup on another drive.

4) Using Bridge, navigate to the folder that contains the downloaded images.

note: I usually put the raw files into a sub-folder so that the jpegs, which usually load faster, are the first that Bridge finds.

Finally, I spend several hours a day using Photoshop (CS5). I find it much easier to use ACDSee 3 to find the images. Once I have found the image I want, I copy the name (w/o the .jpg suffix) and then go to Photoshop, navigate to the raw folder, and File/Open that raw file.

I have tried using Bridge, but have found it way too cumbersome.

Please pwease pretty please if you like this photo, click the favorite button and I’ll love you forever! :)

Shall have to write up how I did this in lightroom, never spent so long on one photo playing with every little slider, adding gradients, using the brush tool, if its in lightroom, I used it xD

The photoshopping was simple, some dodging here, some burning there, blurred the water somewhat, oh happy days :)

Such a pain taking this picture, spent a good 20 minutes walking right out to where the photo was taken (very slippery rocks covered in seaweed + camera = potential disaster!)

Totally worth it, dead chuffed with the photo!

Any Faves/Comments are hugely appreciated!!! (but mainly faves! <3 )

Much love

Rob :)

More detail, some colour. Sketched in Sketchbook Pro, finished in Adobe Photoshop, because I still can’t work out how to do everything in Sketchbook Pro.

if you can’t find the options for changing luminance of a track use F3 to reveal these properties.
