Named after the innovative French Baroque composer Jean-Féry Rebel (1666-1747), REBEL was formed in the Netherlands in 1991 and has since earned an impressive international reputation, enchanting diverse audiences with their expressive style and their virtuosic, provocative approach to the Baroque and Classical repertoire.
REBEL has performed to critical acclaim across Europe and North America, with appearances at Holland Festival Oude Muziek, Tage Alter Musik Berlin, Library of Congress, University of Chicago Presents, and the Boston and Berkeley Early Music Festivals.
Their program highlights musical treasures from the Baroque period, with works by Telemann, Corelli, Leclair, Boyce, Rossi, Fux, Goldberg, and Vivaldi.
