This tutorial shows how to create a certificate by using a template downloaded from Microsoft’s Website. The template used is compatible with Word 2003, so the template has to be converted to the Word 2007 Format to use all of the features that comes with Word 2007. The templates can be modified to meet the student’s needs. The one used in this tutorial is for a high school graduation diploma. With a few clicks of the mouse and some modification of the text boxes, the diploma becomes a certificate of achievement for students who have increased their reading level.

    You need a background that extends to the border of the paper. Also, you need a printer that can print to the edge of the paper. A work around is the buy certificate paper with the boarder already printed. Most office supply stores, or online stores, have them. Then, just fill in the rest and print on that paper.
