Earth Day Event on 2015-04-22 08:00:00
Washington State Parks offers several "free days" when a Discover Pass is not required to visit a state park. Please note, free days apply only to day use (not overnight stays or rented facilities). A Discover Pass is still required to access lands managed by the Washington state departments of Natural Resources and Fish & Wildlife on these days. Sno-Park permits are still required on free days at designated Sno-Parks during the winter season.
The fifth-annual River Run on the Fourth will be held Saturday, July 4, 2015, in conjunction with the Wenatchee Independence Day Celebration. The 5K and 10K will start and finish at Pybus Public Market, which opened in 2013 and is the second-largest public market in Washington state.
The 5K and 10K courses are traffic-free and ideal for both runners and walkers. The courses utilize the community's Apple Capital Loop Trail, which meanders along the banks of the Columbia River. Participants will enjoy numerous views of the Columbia, the Cascade Mountains and the Wenatchee Foothills.
Each participant receives a commemorative shirt and a finishers medal, along with refreshments.
